Villani Spa was founded in 1886 in Castelnuovo Rangone (MO) thanks to Costante Villani ed Ernesta Cavazzuti who, after a period of marketing of fresh meats and sausages, bought a building and began the pork slaughter, the seasoning of salami, coppa, pancetta and the production of mortadella and cooked hams. The company soon started showing its vocation to export and already in the '30s the speakers bore the words "New York".
