La Vecchia Malga, a big family: The company was founded in 1969 by Rino Chiari, who imported the products, especially very fresh, from the typical production areas, and then distributed them to retail stores in Bologna.
The market then expanded to Modena, and gradually throughout Italy. In 2000 the Chiari family opened the first company shop with direct retail sales at the main building in Zola Predosa, therefore, given the great response from customers for the variety and quality of what was offered, they were gradually inaugurated: the first shop at the Airport in 2005, the shop in via Mazzini in 2006, La Baita in via Pescherie Vecchie in 2007 (which combines the sale of food and wine products with the possibility of tasting the excellence of the territory), the Restaurant at the Airport in 2013, the Pizzeria at the Airport in 2014, the Bar at the Airport in 2015, Italian Gastronomy at the Airport (non-Schengen area) in 2015.
The ascent shows no signs of stopping: the Chiari family will soon present a new and ambitious project aimed at further promoting the Vecchia Malga internationally.
